WHAT TO EXPECT/ SAUNA ETIQUETTE

_______________________________________________

ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE

  • Please arrive at least 5-minutes early for your appointment.
  • Please make sure you vacate the sauna suite when your appointment time is completed, allowing us enough time in between to clean and get things ready for our next client.
  • Late arrivals will result in time deducted from their sauna session to ensure proper departure time and arrivals for the next guest.
  • If you’re 15 minutes late or more, you’ll need to reschedule and will be charged a $15 late fee.
  • Make sure to plan extra time before or after your session to explore our amazing selection of retail offerings!

WHAT TO WEAR

  • No need to wear anything! To benefit from the full spectrum infrared expose as much of your skin as you can. #getnaked!
  • Some like to wear their bathing suit or light undergarments when in the sauna; however, most go in with just the towels provided.
  • We recommend wearing loose-fitting, comfortable clothing after your session.

BEFORE YOUR SESSION

  • Continue to drink plenty of water throughout your session. Filtered water is available onsite and water is available for purchase.
  • Remove makeup to allow your skin to receive the full benefit of the infrared heat.
  • Remove tanning lotions and oils on your skin.
  • Consult a physician if you are experiencing any of the following: high or low blood pressure, history of heart disease, obesity, circulatory problems, currently taking any medications, epilepsy, seizures, multiple sclerosis, have a pacemaker, or defibrillator, or any other pre-existing medical concern.

DURING YOUR SESSION

  • Take care not to overheat during your first few sessions. As the body continues to adjust, body temperature regulation will become more effective. If sauna becomes too hot, and the heat is creating stress, you may open the door for a minute to let some fresh air inside.
  • You may not sweat much during your first 2-3 sauna sessions. This is normal for many people, it takes a few sessions to “retrain” the body to do what comes naturally.
  • Continue to drink plenty of water—ensuring you drink at least 10 ounces. Filtered water is available onsite and water is available for purchase.
  • While cell phones are allowed in sauna suites, DROP does not recommend their use due to high sauna temperature and moisture.

AFTER YOUR SESSION

  • After your session is complete and you have exited the sauna, take a few minutes to relax and cool down.
  • Remember, continue to drink water! Filtered water is available onsite. Water and electrolyte-enhanced drinks are available for purchase
  • Place used towels in the hamper provided at the end of the hallway.
  • Turn up the time and temperature on the interior control panel before exiting the sauna – we don’t want the sauna to turn off and cool down!
  • Leave the suite barn door open upon exit.
  • Post-sauna, as the natural cool-down process occurs, your metabolism doesn’t return to normal immediately – contributing to further calorie burn. So, take your time cooling down afterward.

INFORMATION & FAQs

How often should I come in?
Every sauna session brings benefits and every person has individualized health and wellness goals. In general, we recommend 1 to 3 times per week. For more aggressive results 4 to 5 times a week may be recommended. The key to any sauna routine is ensuring you replenish fluids, minerals, and electrolytes in between sauna sessions.

Are the saunas disinfected?
At DROP, we take the utmost pride in operating a pristine clean facility throughout. After each sauna session, both the sauna and sauna suite are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.

Can I share my Membership Sessions?
No. Our memberships offer the very lowest price per session available and are intended for the use of one customer. However, we do encourage our members to bring friends and family in with them! Ask a DROP team member about our ‘Buddy Pass’ option as a DROP member benefit.

Can I bring a child along to my session?
Please no unsupervised children under the age of 12. However, children are welcome to wait inside your private sauna suite where a chair is provided.

Do you recommend the sauna for pregnant women?
Although it is not something we would recommend at DROP, you are welcome to consult your physician.

Is Infrared Sauna Therapy an efficient hangover remedy?
We do not recommend use of the sauna while severely dehydrated, which is the result of excessive alcohol consumption.
